A trainee kept losing ground to an overbearing colleague — not from lack of knowledge, but because her language gave way under pressure. We role-played the exact exchange until the assertion became automatic.
NHS Leadership
Ahead of redundancy consultations, a general manager needed to hold her position against union reps skilled at drawing people into oversharing. We drilled the actual rhetoric she'd face until her register couldn't be shaken.
Legal Register
A Parisian lawyer studied real courtroom exchanges between prosecutor and judge — the emotional language, the deflection — to recognise and use that same authority deliberately in his own advocacy.
Cybersecurity
A cybersecurity specialist needed to explain technical processes in plain language. Playing mock confusion forced him to simplify until his explanations were smooth and exact.
Public Affairs
A lobbyist's polished phrasing wasn't landing. Playing a disengaged member of the public, I gave him nothing to work with until his language sharpened enough to actually connect.
Medical Research
A researcher needed her key points to land clearly in regular collaborative sessions. We built structural terms and high-impact phrasing so her audience could follow every step.
None of this is generic. Each case starts with the actual situation a client is facing, and the language work is built backward from it.
Where It Started
Before any of this, fifteen years in schools, several as a Head of English — including building middle leaders: helping them organise their curriculums with greater intent, sharper implementation, and real measurable impact, and helping them see how the specific language they used in a classroom shaped motivation, behaviour, and outcomes, often more than the content itself. That's the same attention I bring to every client now — the belief that precise language, deliberately chosen, changes what actually happens next.
