Professionals

Your English is good. Until someone pushes back.

One-to-one coaching for non-native professionals who freeze, over-explain or back down in difficult conversations at work. We prepare you for your real meetings, so you stay clear and composed when it matters.

Where I've Worked

Real sectors, real pressure.

Long-term clients across these sectors. Each comes with its own pressures, and each needs a different read of the room.

NHS

Service managers

Holding your position in interviews, panels, and cross-team leadership — without the room reading it as friction.

Legal

Solicitors & legal professionals

Client-facing authority that survives being pushed back on, in writing and in the room.

Police

Trainees

Staying structured and unshaken when a high-stakes, time-critical situation is actively trying to knock you off balance.

Marketing & HR

Managers & leads

Persuasion that survives budget scrutiny, and performance conversations that don't get quietly avoided.

IT & Cybersecurity

Technical specialists

Getting non-technical stakeholders to actually act on what you're telling them, not just nod along.

Finance

Finance professionals

Trust and authority in client conversations and reporting, especially when the numbers are the easy part.

The Problem

More English lessons don't fix a pressure problem.

A senior clinician doesn't need drilling on the present subjunctive. She needs to stay clear and convincing when a panel member challenges her in her consultant interview. A solicitor doesn't need more "negotiation vocabulary". He needs his calls and emails to carry authority without sounding stiff. Generic courses teach the general case. We start with the actual situation and work backward to what solves it.

The Method

A working method, not a curriculum.

Diagnose

Strategy call

We identify the conversations that cost you the most: a type of meeting, a difficult colleague, a recurring call.

Prepare

Each workshop

For each situation, you see how it's handled, understand why it works, and rehearse the language until it comes without thinking.

Practise

Live, one-to-one

We role-play your real meetings under realistic pressure, so by the time they happen, you've already been through them.

Apply

At work

You use it in your next meeting, and we build the following workshop on what happened.

The Programme

The Right-Now System.

For professionals whose English is good, but who lose it under pressure at work. You learn to recognise your triggers, pay attention to what the other person actually wants, and have the language ready, so you can respond clearly instead of defensively. Every workshop is built on your real meetings.

What Clients Say

"Mark helped me speak more confidently in front of my boss. We practised and mocked out the conversation I needed to have with her, and in real life I was far more able to keep to the point and get past the moments where we disagreed. Before, I'd shut down and the issue just wouldn't get resolved."

— Marketing Manager

"Mark enhanced my ability to deal with some really difficult members of staff. I'd started to dread certain meetings because I knew I wouldn't handle them well, and I'd feel embarrassed in front of the partners. Now I'm much better at steering the conversation in a more positive direction and keeping us on track."

— Associate Director

"As a senior leader, I have to wear many hats and delegate different types of responsibility. Mark's help with how I differentiate my language has been invaluable — I get more from my department leads by reframing the same facts into language that speaks to them and their incentives."

— Senior Director
